Create a quilt based on something you've read (from a book, a newspaper, a magazine or even a comic you read as a kid) This quilt challenge will also be a contest with a prize at the end for the quilt receiving the most votes for viewer’s choice. If you wish to participate in the contest and have your entry judged by your fellow guild members follow the challenge/contest rules: * The quilt can be of any size *You can use any method, i.e., applique, piecing, hand sewn, machine sewn, paper piecing. *Embellishments allowed *Entry must be finished, bound, and quilted (or tied) to qualify. *Deadline is January 2021 or the next time we get together after that month.
DATES to remember Sign up by September 15th by sending a picture of your choices for quilt topic to Sue A. If you change your mind after sending the picture, that’s okay, you will not be committed to anything in your picture. By October 30th, send a picture of the materials/embellishments that you are thinking of using or have started using to Sue A. Again, you can change your materials at any time you want. There is no obligation to stick with what is shown in the picture. At the January meeting, present the finished quilt, bound & quilted/tied for viewing. The pictures will be shared with the membership but we won’t identify who sent which picture.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST PART OF THIS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHALLENGE. If you just want to make a quilt with the book theme but don’t want to send pictures that’s fine. The contest will be for those who want to send pictures.
